VC Field Trip to Islamic Arts Museum

Students from Design Principles module (Visual Communication) went to Islamic Arts Museum this afternoon to see and learn basic design principles such as Point, Line, Plane, Shapes, and Color through the Museum’s vast permanent collections from around the world. Students were amazed by how intricate patterns created using geometries and applied to make unique and creative designs by hand before the evolution of modern technologies. It was fascinating to observe and evaluate those Islamic illuminated manuscripts from Persian empires that are beyond perfection.

Islamic Arts Museum is the largest museum of Islamic arts in South East Asia with more than seven thousands artifacts from the Islamic world. Students gained their knowledge from the museum and able to apply it to their final project as well as other project that deals with the elements of Design Principle.
