Natural Environmental Awareness Talk

Our students attended an extraordinary ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS TALK on Thursday.

Thank you to Ms. Sophine Tann ( Chairman, Peka Selangor) and Mr. Mike Tan ( Secretary) for sharing their experience and knowledge about the Environment with our indergraduates.

PEKA is the acronym for Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam which translates into Association for the Protection of Natural Heritage of Malaysia.

Formed 7 years ago by the present president Toh Puan Sabrina Syd Akil, PEKA is a Non Government Organization (NGO) and is funded by private and public donations. They are not funded by any government concerns and they are non-political. One of their aims is to have a PEKA branch for each state of our nation. This is to bring much needed awareness to the general population especially in the cities.

Here in the college Sophine and Mike made us to understand the necessity to work for the worthy cause of protecting, conserving and preserving the oldest rainforest in the world, rivers and seas.

We all believe that the natural environment is of utmost importance for without it, ultimately there would be no life. Their mission statement is SEE NATURE, SEE LIFE.
