A Trip to Paris - FMM

The Paris study trip organised by the Fashion Marketing and Management department in March 2014 was a fashion merchandising focused event. The students primary tasks was to attend 2 trade shows in which many international established and upcoming new designers and brands were exhibiting.


Apart from attending trade shows, students also have the opportunity to experience the rich culture and history of France by visiting the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame de Paris, Louvre museum, the Pompidou arts centre, Palais Royale and the palace of Versailles.

Apart from the world famous the avenue des Champs-Élysées where the flagship store of Louis Vuitton were located and also the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, which is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, the student also visited the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is a street in Paris, cited as being one of the most fashionable streets in the world, thanks to the presence of virtually every major global fashion house throughout its length, to high-fashion stores and other exclusive establishments. The students were able to have the experience and research on the very rich and elaborate window displays, store layouts and merchandise offered.

In this trip, students not only have had a very rich historical and cultural experience, but were able to learn how to be a buyer and merchandiser and put into practice the skills they have learnt at Raffles Kuala Lumpur.
